Quadriceps Muscle Tears

This patient complained of right anterior thigh pain. This coronal post-gadolinium fat-saturated T1-weighted image of the thighs shows partial tears of the quadriceps muscle group bilaterally, right greater than left. There is disruption of the muscle bundles, with associated abnormal enhancement. This patient was symptomatic primarily on the right side, with only minimal symptoms on the left.
