Vivek (Vic) David, M.D.
Dr. David completed his undergraduate studies in Genetics and Biochemistry at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Following medical school at Yale University, he performed his residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital at the Harvard School of Medicine, where he won the teaching award for residents and published several peer-reviewed articles during his residency. He then pursued additional training in MRI, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. David ran the clinical MRI service at Beth Israel Deaconess, working under the direction of Robert Edelman, M.D., a world leader in magnetic resonance imaging. This intense, focused experience exposed him to every facet of MRI, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and body MRI. During that time, Dr. David published several articles on cutting-edge applications of MRI.
Following his radiology and MRI training, Dr. David spent time at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he helped build and direct the MRI service. Wanting to be closer to home, he then joined Progressive Radiology, where he has continued to practice high-quality radiology and MRI.
Dr. David is a trusted consultant to many physicians. He is instrumental in managing and continually improving MRI imaging protocols for over twenty MRI centers, making sure that patients always get the best possible examination. His skill set also included extensive, hands-on experience with computers and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), which are integral to a modern radiology practice. He is well-known for his commitment to his clinical colleagues and their patients. He continues to lecture on a regular basis, and also teaches residents.
Although he brings extensive experience in all facets of imaging to Progressive Radiology, he has a focused interest in orthopaedic radiology.
Visit his musculoskeletal and orthopedic MRI blog.
Dr. David is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society and a counselor for Radiological Society of North America. He is an avid reader and computer expert. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, and is active in the community.
