Al Dial, M.D. During his training, Dr. Dial was appointed chief resident. While in this capacity, he received focused training in cross-sectional imaging with an emphasis on MRI. Following his training, he joined a busy private practice radiology group in New Orleans. He became Director of MRI at Methodist Hospital in 1996, and was appointed Director of Radiology in 1999. As Director, he played an integral role in bringing the first multidetector CT scanner to the New Orleans area. Dr. Dial also developed a Women's Imaging Center while in New Orleans, where he performed hundreds of ultrasound and stereo tactic-guided breast biopsy procedures. He worked closely with Methodist Oncology Center, and was an active member of Tumor Board. He received certification to interpret PET studies at Stanford University in 2002, and shortly thereafter initiated PET imaging at Methodist Hospital. Dr. Dial also has a wealth of experience in cross sectional imaging guided biopsy and drainage procedures. He is also a trained interventional radiologist, having performed hundreds of arteriographic procedures including angioplasty, stent placement and thrombolysis. Dr. Dial brings a broad range of expertise to Progressive Radiology. He has a proven track record as an innovator and leader in the practice of radiology.
